Jumpstarted,
reworked, and remixed Who Needs Sleep
Tonight is Silicon Soul’s follow-up to their much acclaimed
album Pouti. This new release presents two
shrewd and savvy interpretations of the dance floor classic by
Germany’s Tied and
Tickled Trio
and New York City's Abe
Duque. The
12-inch also includes the original Silicon Soul mix, which
started it all, and Silicon Soul’s own 2004 “Insanity Remix”.

Pouti, the hidden pearl
from the vivid New York Underground of the early 80s
can now be rediscovered. Embedding prolific song-writing and
twisted vocals, Pouti
includes the original Who Needs Sleep Tonight, the
European dance chart topper that found its way onto compilations from
K7!
and Compost Records. In 2002 it was covered by famed
French DJ/Producer Bob
Sinclar
featuring the vocals of
Silicon Soul's own Jolly III.
